Following this interview Sammy left for Jamaica to kick off promotional efforts for his 18 track debut album “ORIGINAL OR DEAD" which is scheduled to be released March 18, 2012, first digitally in online stores then on hard copy CD release.

Sammy British hails from the parish of Clarendon Jamaica. Having lived his first 18 years in his native Jamaica, reggae has played a major role in his musical development. He later migrated to the United States where he attended university and is carving a life enmeshed with various cultures while maintaining his true Jamaican roots.

With a passion for music, he has written many songs over a span of years, but it was not until 2011 when Sammy decided to approach music on a professional level.

Being an independent artiste himself Sammy British saw a need to create a a medium through which other indie artistes could have their talents produced in a supportive environment which offers promotion and development. With this vision, a plan was put into action resulting in the launch of his independent record label 8 Sics Entertainment Group (pronounced "8-O-6" or "eight - oh - six") established May 30, 2011. This collaborative project consists of Sammy as C.E.O., producer Joel Edwards, a promotion and marketing team as well as other artists.

Since emerging with his debut single “Free Me” on July 23, 2011, Sammy has left his fans eager for more. On December 11, 2011 he gave them just that and more with the release of “Fallen Soldier - featuring Shawn-J” as a single. To his surprise they were not the least disappointed as one of his fan in Jamaica submitted “Fallen Soldier “for entry in Global Linkz Radio New Artiste Top 10 in January 2012 where it was well received as voters from around the world supported it for 9 weeks on the chart.

With things looking good, Sammy kept a steady pace. On February 10, 2012, he delivered “Take Off” as single which was immediately in high request by radio listeners in New Jersey and New York.

“Take Off” has since been in regular rotation on several radio stations in the US as well as other countries.

Keeping true to the title of his previous release, fans were once again impressed as Sammy dropped another bomb with the released of “Say It To Me” a single written by a former rock artiste F.E.M. (Female Empowered Music) on which Sammy is featured. F.E.M. is the newest signed artist to the 8:0Sics camp.

Though his primary focus is on the collaboration of the Hip Hop & Reggae genres, his musical expression features variable fusion of styles, influences, effectively creating his own unique musical style/identity.

In speaking with or listening to this charismatic young man, one will hear that he has a firm dedication to originality and individuality as evidenced in the delivery of each song. His lyrical vibrancy and vocal clarity distinguishes this emerging artiste as an intellectually sound rising star who exudes fluency and ingenuity which is in essence the Sammy British Signature.
